Pierre Yong, Director of the Quality Measurement and Value-Based Incentives Group (QMVIG) in the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality at CMS, and Dr. On October 30, 2017, CMS Administrator Seema Verma announced a new approach to quality measurement, called “Meaningful Measures.” The Meaningful Measures Initiative will involve identifying the highest priorities to improve patient care through quality measurement and quality improvement efforts. CMS uses quality measures in its various quality initiatives that include quality improvement, pay for reporting, and public reporting.
